bonebook

Deposits and online payments

Appointment booking software with deposits at booking

With BoneBook you can take a deposit or the full price at the moment the client books online. You connect your own Stripe account and the money goes straight into it: BoneBook takes no commission (Stripe charges its own fees). For each service you choose a fixed deposit, full payment or nothing, and whether payment is required or optional. You decide how many hours' notice the client needs to get their deposit back if they cancel. It's on every plan.

  • No commission per booking
  • No contract
  • Cancel any time

How it works

  1. 01

    Connect your Stripe

From the dashboard you link your own Stripe account. Payments reach your account, not ours.

  2. 02

    Choose what to charge

Per service: a fixed-amount deposit, the full price or nothing. And whether payment is required or optional for the client.

  3. 03

    The client pays when booking

Payment happens inside the booking, by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or other methods you have enabled in Stripe.

What's included

A deposit makes a client think twice before not turning up.

The money goes to your account

Each business connects its own Stripe account (Stripe Connect). BoneBook never touches your money or takes a percentage.

Deposit or full payment

For each service you decide whether to take a fixed-amount deposit, the full price at booking, or nothing.

Required or optional

You can require payment to confirm the appointment, or let the client choose whether to pay now or in person.

Your own refund policy

If they cancel with at least the notice you set (from 0 to 168 hours, 24 by default), the deposit is refunded. If not, you keep it.

Payment inside the booking

The client doesn't leave for another page. They pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or the methods you have enabled in Stripe.

Slot held while they pay

The time is held while the client completes payment and is released automatically if they don't pay in time.

Included in all plans

Deposits and online payments are on every plan, from Starter (€29/month incl. VAT). BoneBook charges no commission on payments; Stripe applies its own fees to each payment.

Frequently asked questions

How does taking a deposit when booking an appointment work?+

When booking online, the client pays the deposit you've set for that service as part of the same booking process. The money goes to your Stripe account and the appointment is confirmed. If they cancel in time under your policy, they get it back.

Does BoneBook take a commission on payments?+

No. Payments go straight to your Stripe account and BoneBook takes no percentage. Stripe does charge its fees on each payment, under the terms of your account.

What happens to the deposit if the client cancels?+

It depends on the notice you choose, from 0 to 168 hours (24 by default). If they cancel with at least that much notice, the deposit is refunded; if they cancel later, you keep it.

Which payment methods are accepted?+

Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and any other methods you have enabled in your Stripe account.

Does BoneBook issue invoices for these payments?+

No. BoneBook isn't a till or an invoicing program. Payments are recorded in your Stripe account and you carry on issuing invoices with your usual software.
